Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about our name, our apparel, how it is made, returns, and local custom work.
Why the Name Bad Mutt?+
We’re a small family business that loves Jesus and dogs. All of our dogs are shelter mutts, and that’s where the name began.
It also reflects what we believe. We believe in Galatians 3:27–29, so in a way all those that belong to Him are mutts. We also believe in Romans 3: no one is good; it is Jesus’ goodness that we rely on. So we are Bad Mutts that rely on Jesus.
Made on Demand+
What does Bad Mutt sell?
Our online line focuses on Christian graphic T-shirts, with select patriotic designs and hats.
What does “made on demand” mean at Bad Mutt?
To keep overhead down, we stock blank T-shirts and print the graphics after orders are placed. We handle the inking and decorating in Odessa, Texas.
When will my order ship?
We print and ship orders within 1–5 business days after receiving them. Delivery time is additional and depends on the carrier and destination.
How do I choose a size?
Check the sizing and fit information on the individual product page. Measurements can differ between products, so we recommend checking before ordering. If you don’t see your size, contact us and we’ll see whether we can get it for you.
U.S. Production & Sourcing+
Where are Bad Mutt branded products made?
Trusted American factory partners cut and sew the garments and hats in our branded online line in the United States. Bad Mutt develops the graphics and handles the inking and decorating in Odessa, Texas.
Are all components sourced in the United States?
Most products in our branded line use U.S.-sourced materials. When a suitable material or component cannot be sourced domestically, we will identify the imported component on that product’s page.
Returns & Exchanges+
These terms apply to standard products in our branded online line. Terms for custom apparel and sports-uniform orders are provided before those orders are approved.
What returns or exchanges do you offer?
An item that does not fit may qualify for a size exchange, subject to availability. Size exchanges are not eligible for a refund. If an item is defective or we sent the wrong item, contact us so we can arrange a replacement or refund.
How do I request an exchange or report a problem?
- Email orders@badmuttclothingco.com with your order number within 15 calendar days after you receive your order. The window begins on the delivery date, not the shipping date. If the item is defective or incorrect, include photos of the problem.
- Wait for our return instructions and shipping label. Send the item back within seven days after receiving the label. If an approved size exchange is not sent within that time, we may cancel the request.
- Once we receive the item, we’ll inspect it and email you with our decision.
- For an approved refund, we’ll initiate payment back to the original payment method within one to five business days after approval. Your bank may take up to 10 business days to post it. For an approved exchange, we’ll begin processing it within one to five business days after receiving and approving the returned item. The replacement may need to be printed before it ships.
- If an item is not eligible, we’ll explain why by email and offer to send it back. We’ll invoice you for the cost of shipping a rejected item back to you. Rejected items are not eligible for a refund or exchange.
What condition must an item be in for a size exchange?
It must be unwashed and unworn except for trying it on, and returned in clean, like-new condition. We cannot approve a size exchange if the item shows signs of use, including deodorant or makeup marks, noticeable scents, animal hair, or excessive lint.
Who pays for shipping?
For an approved size exchange, you pay to ship the original item back and to have the replacement shipped to you. We’ll explain those charges before you send the item. If we confirm a defect or that we shipped the wrong item, Bad Mutt pays the shipping needed to return it and send the correction.
What about damage caused by garment care?
Follow the instructions on the garment label. Damage caused by improper washing or drying—including shrinkage, color transfer, fading, distortion, or damage from bleach, fabric softeners, or other harsh chemicals—is not eligible for a return or exchange. If you believe an issue is a manufacturing defect rather than care-related damage, email us so we can review it.
Custom Apparel & Sports Teams+
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. We work with select businesses and organizations in the Permian Basin on custom graphics and apparel. Contact us through our Partners page to discuss a project. Custom-order sourcing and return terms are separate from those for our branded online line.
Do you provide sports uniforms?
We work with an American manufacturing partner to provide sports uniforms and jerseys for local club and school sports teams.
